Scientific Advisory Board of the German Innovation Survey

I was appointed by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space to serve on the Scientific Advisory Board of the German Innovation Survey.

In this role, I contribute to discussions on the scientific development and policy relevance of one of Germany’s central sources of evidence on firm-level innovation activity.

I was commissioned by the European Commission to present and discuss our research on "Robots, Reshoring, and the Lot of Low-Skilled Workers" at the European Social Situation Monitor Seminar in Brussels.

The seminar brought together researchers and policy experts to discuss the social and labour-market implications of technological change.

AI instead of Waste

A former Master’s student supervised by me was part of the award-winning team behind “AI instead of Waste”, recognised by the European Digital Innovation Hubs Network.

The project demonstrates how data science and artificial intelligence can be applied to practical sustainability challenges.

Data Science in Economics and Programming Workshop

We hosted a Data Science in Economics and Programming Workshop for young female pupils at my Chair. With this workshop we participated in the nationwide "Girls'Day", which is supported by the Federal Ministry for Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.

The workshop introduced participants to programming, economic data and the practical use of data science methods.

Participated in the ruhrSUMMIT 2025 by invitation to discuss the economic implications of artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and regional innovation with entrepreneurs, start-ups and innovation practitioners.

Engaged in professional exchange with representatives of "BochumWirtschaftsentwicklung" (Bochum Economic Development) as well as founders and business leaders on innovation ecosystems, entrepreneurship and regional competitiveness.
